River Trip
June 10, 2008
Hi Friends,
It’s been a few days since I have blogged. These are the happenings as of late:
Friday we all packed up and made the journey to Tahlequah, Oklahoma to float the Illinois river. What a fun, yet exhausting weekend it was. The first day we floated on rafts and did a 12 mile float. Luckily, I had Captain Steve on my raft who did almost all of the rowing, with the help of Kyle. The second day, we did a shorter trip on inner tubes on a private part of the river. We did that float trip in the morning and it was quite peaceful. I loved the morning sun coming over the trees with the steady flow of the river taking us downstream. I wish that could have lasted a little bit longer. Overall, I had a great time while we were there. There’s nothing better than spending time with good friends, sitting around a camp fire at night and hanging out in the sun during the day.
Here are a couple of pictures from the float trip…
This is Captain Steve.
Here we are trying not to smile.
Carrie and Elisabeth.
Steve would hate it if he knew I posted this picture on here.
Until next time,
-S
